After the highest award for corporate social responsibility CSR 2008 in the category of large enterprises, Metalac was again ranked among the most responsible companies in competition with 35 others companies. This time, Metalac received the national Djordje Weifert Award for the Metalac Foundation’s project We Grow Up Together for the Future, which has included almost 650 babies during the last 13 years.
This is a unique program within which the Company provides support to its employees, especially women, for creation of family and birth of children, and which has invested around 700,000 euros for the monetary prizes alone.
Among the five best major companies, the first place was won by Tarkett d.o.o. as the best company in corporate social responsibility. Aside from Metalac, DM Drogeria from Belgrade, Telekom Serbia, and NIS AD from Novi Sad were also among the best five companies. The selection was organized by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce with support from the Ministry of Economy, Environmental Protection, Labor and Social Policy, the media, and representatives of non-governmental organizations. Using strict criteria and multi-stage evaluation, the expert jury assessed the project itself, as well as the total business of the company, with a special emphasis on its contribution to the entire community and its relationship with employees, the environment and the users.
